Spring 2: Week 1 - posted 25th Feb
Wow! What a busy first week! The Whizz Kids have thoroughly enjoyed their first week back. We have started reading our new class novel 'Trash'. We are already gripped; it's definitely going to be a good read. In maths, we have been doing further work on statistics and reading timetables. The Whizz Kids have demonstrated some excellent skills. I'm very impressed. We've started our Science topic on Evolution. I'm sure the children will learn lots of new information during this topic. We have also started our new topic 'Land of the Free', which is looking at North America. We started this topic by doing some map skills. After a few bad weeks attendance last half-term (those bugs certainly wiped some of us out), I'm pleased to say the Whizz Kids have come back with a bang this week and won the attendance of the week - we've only had one person off on one day! Brilliant - keep this up! This week, I sent out our curriculum newsletter. Please have a read and pop into school if you have any queries. I've also attached a copy to our class page. As you all know, it's Parents' Evening next week; I'm looking forward to meeting all parents and carers, sharing news on your child's achievements. If you haven't made an appointment, please do so. Last of all, I sent out the Crucial Crew trip letter this week. This trip is on the 9th March. Please send letters back ASAP. I can't wait for this visit!
