Year 5/6 - Wise Owls - Miss Jude
Welcome to the Wise Owl page! Here you will find information about what is going on throughout the year. For more regular updates follow our Twitter pages: y5kingedprimary or y6kingedprimary
The Wise Owls are taught by Miss Jude. Mrs Bisset and Miss Parkin are our Teaching Assistants. Miss Sheldon also supports within our classroom.
We are very lucky to have fully qualified Sports Coaches working in school this year. Our PE session is on a Tuesday morning at 11:00am. Children can come dressed ready for PE on that day; however, please send their uniform to change into after the PE session. For now, all PE sessions will take place outside so it is very important your child brings a kit that would be suitable for all weather types. Please ensure your child has appropriate footwear for outdoor PE sessions. The PE kit will be brought home after PE on Tuesday and can be left at home until the following Tuesday.
In Wise Owls we love reading and last term we had a very special delivery of new books for our class, which the children are able to take home to enjoy reading at home. We encourage children to read at home every night, you play an important role in this, so please try to listen to your child read and sign their reading record. As well as reading at home, throughout the year we will be reading a range of different books in our reading lessons. At the beginning of the year we started reading Holes by Louis Sachar, which we will continue reading throughout this term. The children love it!
Home learning involves a variety of tasks, so please ask if you or your child need support with this at any point. We also encourage the children to log onto Times Table Rock Stars and Mathletics as a part of their Home Learning. The children should have log-ins for these, if you need any support please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Just a reminder Wise Owl’s should arrive at school by 8:40. If you need any support please don’t hesitate to contact me, you can send an email to email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org depending on which year your child is in.
