Welcome to the Dynamic Dolphin’s page.
Last week’s attendance figure:
We are currently enjoying a topic about some of the disasters from the past, we have looked at the plague and how this links to the nursery rhyme ‘Ring a ring a roses’.
We are now learning about the Great Fire of London and how this changed London and the affect it had on the fire service.
We will then look at the titanic and what happened when the boat hit the iceberg.
We have enjoyed finding out how we know about these disasters when they were all so long ago by looking at diary entries, artefacts and historical documents.
We love to read a wide variety of stories in Y2. We have been focusing on reading traditional stories from other countries and cultures over the past few weeks and the children have really enjoyed thinking about the meaning of new words. Mrs Gibson is reading us ‘the The Secret of Spiggy Holes ‘ at the moment by Enid Blyton.
We encourage the children to read at home every night, you play an important role in this so please try to listen to your child read and sign their home school book at least 3 times a week.
Please ensure your child's P.E. kit is bought into school on a Monday and left in school until Friday. We do P.E. on a Tuesday with a Sports Coach but this may change if needed.
We also complete the Daily Mile daily so please ensure your child has appropriate footwear in school.
We are currently sending home a spelling rule each week so that the children can find a set of words that use that rule. We are also about to launch ‘maths with parents’ details will follow soon.
It is important that your child attends school everyday as it provides a routine and develops your child’s learning. If your child is unwell, please contact the school office before 8.50am.
All Year 2 children are entitled to a free school lunch.
